Director, Karen McGrath turned her love of literature and storytelling into a successful business when she established Mount Venus Productions.

Karen’s working life began as a freelance journalist in the Sunday Business Post and Oak Tree Press before moving to the UK to start a career in television producing and directing Programmes for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Channel 5.

Some of Karen’s credits include “ Trouble up North” BBC1, Panorama BBC Nr Ireland and “ The Search for King Solomons Mines” Channel4.
Karen returned to Ireland in 2002 and continued to direct programmes for the BBC and RTE picking up an award in 2004 for the BBC NI documentary “The Last Lap” In the footsteps of Joey Dunlop. Karen worked in RTE Producing and Directing the FIAT awarded RTE'S Love Story, A Little Bit of Country and Bing's Favourite Irishman.
