Business Affairs
SPI recognises the complex role of creative entrepreneur and to help support our members we provides a range of supports in relation to business affairs; including information and template documents relating to legal and financial management of productions contracting, co-production, and licencing as well as helpful links for legal and accounting information. There are multiple sources of funding for both English and Irish language productions in Ireland. From our Public Service Media, RTÉ and TG4, Coimisiún na Meán Sound and Vision Scheme, National screen agency – Screen Ireland, regional funding from the WRAP Fund and European funding from Creative Media Europe. There is also the Film and TV tax credit Section 481 which is applicable to a wide section of genres. Find out more about these opportunities here.
Human Resources
SPI negotiates and oversees the implementation of Union agreements with the ICTU affiliated sectoral Unions. In addition to this we provide support to members in ensuring that their internal HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with legislation. This section provides a suite of template HR documents, up to date information on SPI/Union agreements, and information on IR/HR best practice, as well as helpful links. Policy & Research
SPI is the leading voice of policy in the Irish Creative Screen Sector. We submit policy papers, on a wide variety of screen sector issues, which are intended to stimulate action in order to sustain and grow the Irish production sector. This section contains these policy papers, along with, other research documents that set out the situation in the Irish sector, as well as the European.
