Red Shoe Productions
Red Shoe Productions is an independent television production company based in An Rinn. The female-owned and operated company was established in 2007 and is headed up by IFTA and RTS award-winning Director/Producer Maggie Breathnach. Maggie is passionate about arts and culture, live music and Irish-language broadcasting.
Red Shoe Productions has a long history of creating art-centred work for broadcasters, including showcasing over 100 artists in short films for "Imeall" (TG4), recounting the life of composer Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin in "Between Worlds" (RTÉ), and exploring Ireland's rich history of literary talent in "Voices of Ireland" (Sky Arts UK). Our mission and purpose is to create imaginative, intelligent, and thought-provoking programmes for a wide range of audiences and broadcasters, both nationally and internationally, expanding the reach of the arts for audiences and participants. We create legacy pieces that resonate beyond their initial transmission period.
We also have extensive experience in cross-border initiatives. With Belfast City Council, and The Duncairn - as part of Gradam Ceoil (TG4) - we created an inaugural bursary scheme supporting creativity and cultural expression. We collaborated with NI Screen and the ILBF to develop skilled crew with the capacity to work in Irish, and this remains a core aspect of both our business strategy and our organisational culture.
We love what we do and we deliver each project with passion and creativity.
