Deadline | Wednesday 26th August 2015 12 noon
RTE Comedy, Talent Development and Music dept is looking for new, high energy proposals for peak-time slots on RTE One, for late autumn and Christmas 2015.
These should be ideas that can deliver significant mainstream audiences in early evening slots, primarily 18.30 on Sunday evening. Both half-hour and hour-long durations will be considered, but the available slots are normally filled by hour long programmes. Formats that break new talent, or enhance existing talent relationships will be prioritised.
These ideas need to be broad enough to bring a big family audience to RTE ONE, during one of the most competitive times of the year. Successful ideas will be considered for either short runs of three or four episodes, or single episodes - and a wide variety of talent vehicles and formats will be considered, as long as they feel appropriate for mainstream Sunday Night viewing. Budgets will be subject to discussion, but will be benchmarked against other RTE programming that normally plays in these slots.
Submissions should be entered into e-commissioning and reach us by 12 noon on Wednesday 26 August 2015
We ask, in the first instance, that producers submit ideas into the eCommissioning system: e-commissioning.rte.ie

We are interested in new comedy ideas that can be carried on RTÉ2, ideally as part of the Christmas schedule. One offs and pilot ideas will be prioritised, and this is a good time of the year to ‘test’ new concepts or talent.
We are interested in developing and commissioning new content in this area that can build on the success of Damo & Ivor, The Mario Rosenstock Show, and The Republic of Telly. Some of the slots in 2015 have already been commissioned. All slots are post-watershed and the focus is on targeting 15-34 year olds. Talkability, virality and real cut through with younger demos is a priority.
We are interested in a variety of new comedy proposals that can fit these slots, and the channel's overall mission of nurturing and supporting new Irish talent and commissioning brave comedy that connects with 15-34 year olds. Comedy formats, talent based projects and scripted comedy is of interest, as are proposals that lend themselves to development phases and BAI or co-production funding
Submissions should be entered into e-commissioning and reach us by 12 noon on Wednesday 26 August 2015.
