RTÉ 2 | Call for Ideas | Reality Bites & Lifestyle
RTÉ2 is looking for compelling programme ideas which resonate strongly with 15-34 year olds and that shed light on contemporary Ireland.
Talkability, virality and real cut through with younger viewers are essential, along with great casting and access.
Recent examples of successful programmes of this type include The Notorious and Meet The McDonaghs – both factual entertainment series which provide a unique window into their respective worlds.
Strongly formatted ideas which would work alongside existing series such as First Dates, Don’t Tell the Bride and The Unemployables are particularly welcome and authored driven series like Maia Dunphy’s Truth About and Baz: The Lost Muslim and Niall Breslin’s Ironmind are also of interest. Baz’ series in particular, was strong and timely and while it appealed particularly to the target RTE2 demographic, it also performed well with other broader audiences.
While our preference is for original Irish formats, we are also happy to look at formats that have worked well elsewhere and which would appeal to an RTE2 audience. Don’t Tell the Bride has been a staple on the channel for a number of years and First Dates will make its debut in Spring this year.
Ideas should be submitted before 12.00pm on Monday February 22nd, 2016 (Strict Deadline)
Reality Bites
RTÉ2’s observational documentary strand Reality Bites has proven to be a very potent brand with a number of stand- out titles, such as: Pitbull, Born Addicted, F***k Cancer. The programmes that have worked best here have been provocative and challenging. Do you have an idea for the next one?
