Deadline approaches for Virgin Media Discovers 2023 submissions, in partnership with Screen Ireland

Virgin Media Discovers, in partnership with Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland, is a competition that helps new and established filmmakers & content creators get their stories heard. Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of this competition, as it looks to discover unique voices and approaches to this theme all while bringing the well-deserved attention to Irish talent. Judged by industry experts, past judges have included Lenny Abrahamson, Lisa McGee, Clare Dunne and Niamh Algar Clinton Liberty, Ursula Rani Sarma, Grainne Humphreys, Bill Malone, Birch Hamilton, Nessa Hardiman and Adrian Dunbar.

The submissions deadline for the 2023 competition is fast approaching. New to this year, the competition is open to factual as well as scripted formats. With a prize fund of €240,000, 10 shortlisted projects will be awarded mentorship and development funding to invest in their script. Our panel of industry Judges will select four winners, who will win between €35,000 and €50,000 to fund the production of their short film or documentary.
