From 15–18 May, Irish cinema takes center stage in Bilbao and Pamplona with the first edition of Irish Film Festival Spain – IberScreen 2025, in partnership with the Irish Film Institute (IFI) International.
Running from 15–18 May 2025, the very first ever IRISH FILM FESTIVAL SPAIN, taking place in Cines Golem i Bilbao and Pamplona, run by IBERSCREEN under Festival Director Teresa Lavina, who will host the Q&As in Bilbao.
With seven powerful films by acclaimed directors like Rich Peppiatt, Damien McCarthy, and Aisling Clarke, and new talents including Barry Black and Steven McKenna, the festival brings Irish stories to the big screen, focusing on social impact, diversity, and co-production opportunities.
Bilbao – Golem Alhóndiga:
Opening with DE TODOS LADOS UN POCO + Q&A with director and acclaimed comedian-actor-musician Álex O’Dogherty
DUBLIN CRUST + Q&A with director-actor Baz Black [Spanish premiere]
DREAMTOWN + Q&A with director Steven McKenna and actors Anthony Murphy and Cian Hyland [European premiere]
Also screening: Spanish premiere of Northern Irish dark-comedy DEAD MAN’S MONEY, and acclaimed horrors ODDITY and FREWAKA
Q&As will take place in Bilbao only, while the full film programme screens simultaneously in Pamplona, where KNEECAP opens on 15 May, following its successful pre-festival screening in Bilbao last week, featuring a live performance by Irish-Spanish rapper DYMNX.
Thanks to PANTAILAK EUSKARAZ | SCREENS IN BASQUE and CULTURE IRELAND, all films will include subtitles in both Euskera and Castellano.

The festival also features audience voting for the IberScreen-IFFS 2025 Audience Award.
Opening Gala: May 15 in Bilbao presented by comedian Álex O'Dogherty and the screening of his new documentary De Todos Lados un Poco, followed by a party sponsored by Jameson in BOAR.
