This year RTÉ intends to broadcast a pre recorded programme showcasing all the Rose Of Tralee festival build up.
RTÉ Entertainment is seeking proposals from suitably experienced production companies with a strong track record in turning around pre recorded shows to a very tight deadline.

Live coverage of the The Rose Of Tralee over two nights from the Festival Dome is one of RTÉ’s most enduring and successful entertainment television programmes. It is a hugely popular staple of the summer on Irish television. For the past 11 years most of the Roses attended a preliminary selection round earlier in the summer. However this year this round will be held during the festival week in Tralee.
The proposed pre recorded preview show will follow the Roses on their journey to Tralee. It shall capture events during the week of the festival and reveal the 32 Roses who will be selected to appear on the live televised selections in the Festival Dome on Monday 22ndand Tuesday 23rdAugust.
With multiple crews required to capture events happening at the same time in multiple locations, and all the main activities happening over a nine day period, the production company selected will need expert resource management and a clear understanding of the post production requirements of delivering high end material for broadcast in a very short time frame. Companies will need to indicate how they propose to manage the footage they gather to air from the various locations and Tralee ready for TX at 20.00 on August 21st. Please note that the final piece of this intricate jigsaw may not be available until 8.30 on the morning of TX.
Experience of successfully managing a collaboration to produce a television programme with a major stakeholder for example a state institution, a large festival or cultural body whose cooperation was central to the process will be an advantage.
