SPI AGM Keynote & Panel
James Morris* will address SPI members and host a Producers panel at the SPI AGM. The SPI AGM will take place on Thursday June 23rd at 3pm in The Alexander Hotel, Dublin 2.
James Morris will deliver a short keynote address and Chair a panel which will discuss Enterprise Growth Strategies for Production Companies.
The panel will discuss how to move your company from a project based model and how to create a sustainable enterprise model.It will also examine the effect of spreading ever reducing resources thinner and the choice between Quality over Quantity.

2016 is shaping up to be the companies biggest year with an up coming slate of UK and US commissions. ‘Genealogy Roadshow’ will be broadcast coast to coast on PBS and is the only unscripted Irish format on US network TV.
Andrew Lowe – Producer – Element Productions
Element Pictures is run by Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe, with offices in Dublin and London, working across production, distribution, and exhibition. Element Pictures Distribution also handles Studio Canal’s slate in Ireland as well as direct acquisitions. ElementPictures operates an online video on demand platform,Volta.ie, which focuses on the finest of Irish and international films. Additionally, Element runs and operates theLight House Cinema, one of Dublin’s premiere art house cinemas.
Irial MacMurchu – Producer – Nemeton TV
CEO of local studio, satellite services, media training and production company Nemeton TV. Nemeton creates more than 300 hours of broadcast content every year, including sports, documentaries and digital marketing videos.
John Phelan – Business Consultant and Investment Advisor at Halcyon Business Solutions
John has extensive experience in start-up and growth businesses (three start-ups; one in the UK, two in Ireland and GM of a computer games company in Chicago). His first business was an Animation Studio in London focusing on Feature films, TV series and Commercials.John Phelan manages the Halo Business Angel Partnership (www.businessangels.ie) and has, to March 2014, led the team to achieving 148 deals with €26m in private investment with a total of €66m invested.
*James Morris has been a driving force in the Irish audiovisual sector. He is a founder of Dublin based Windmill Lane Studios and Windmill Lane Picture.He is a founding member of the Mill London, a high end VFX and creative content studio specialising in moving image, design and digital projects across all platforms.He led the consortium that established Ireland’s first national commercial TV channel, TV3.He served two terms as Chair of the Irish Film Board and is currently building a VFX studio in Dublin.
