Yesterday the Government announced the details of the revised Covid-19 Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme have been published by Revenue. They can be viewed here.
The legislation is expected to be passed this evening and there may be final small revisions, which will be reflected on Revenue's website.
Under the revised scheme the government will reimburse employers for 70% of an employee's wage up to a maximum of 410 euro per week (further details to be provided by Revenue). Employers may choose to provide a top up, but this is not required. Where an employer is in a position to provide a top up this is encouraged, but we appreciate productions often do not have the means to do so.
Employers qualify for the scheme if they can demonstrate a minimum of 25% reduction in turnover.
We would advise members to review the revised scheme to determine, where applicable, whether they are in a position to participate in the scheme.
If you are not in a position to do so, or where individuals are self-employed the existing Covid-19 Pandemic payment will apply. The amount of the payment has been increased to 350 euro and details can be foundhere.
We are following up on whether there are any issues we need to be aware of in relation to this scheme and the S481 credit.
We would be grateful if you could advise if your production/company is intending to avail of the Revenue reimbursement scheme.
We will be providing further updates as details becomes available. If you have any queries please email info@screenproducersireland.com
